Iranian Academic Selected as Chairman of IOAI’s Scientific Committee

TEHRAN (ANA)- A faculty member of Sharif University of Technology in Iran was unanimously nominated as the chairman of the International Olympiad of Artificial Intelligence (IOAI)’s Scientific Committee for the second consecutive year.

Ali Sharifi Zarchi, a faculty member of the Artificial Intelligence and Bioinformatics Department of the Faculty of Computer Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, was unanimously nominated as the chairman of the IOAI’ scientific committee for the second consecutive year.

The IOAI is the most prestigious scientific competition for high school students in the world, with over 94 countries participating so far. Each national team consists of four selected students from a country who participate in two individual competitions and one team competition.

In addition to the annual global competition week with accompanying academic and social programs, IOAI has under its umbrella Regional OAIs. IOAI supports the National IOAs around the world, and builds a network of organizations and individuals in the field of AI.

The International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), the newest International Science Olympiad in the world, has announced that its 3rd edition will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 2026 from 2nd until 8th of August.
