At present, the stock of basic goods in the warehouses of Imam Khomeini port is 1.8 million tons, which is an improvement in the process of unloading and loading operations compared to the same period last year which was about 2.8 million tons.

This trend is expected to continue in the second half of the year, and the growth in basic goods imports will continue by at least 18% compared to last year.

Deputy Head of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) Jalil Eslami announced in February that 211 million tons of commodities were loaded and unloaded at the Iranian ports since the start of the current Persian calendar year.

“The amount of unloading and loading, which is one of the most important indicators for evaluating the performance of the country's ports, has been the same this year as last year and has reached 211 million tons,” Eslami said.

“In the transit sector, a 21 percent growth has been achieved, and in the basic goods sector, the performance of the country's ports has been reported to be 21 million tons,” he added.

Over 236 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded at the Iranian ports under the supervision of the PMO in the past Persian calendar year (ended on March 19).
