Iran-Made Medication Capable of Protecting Humans from Wild Animals
“We have produced a medication that both will prevent the death of animals and save human lives,” Hamid Reza Mohajerani, the managing director of the company, told ANA.
Referring to the high rate of animal bites in the country, he said, “The product aims to control animals that have common diseases with humans.”
In this line, working groups have been formed throughout the country by governorate departments, he added.
According to the announced results, the number of dog bites, especially in children, is very high. Based on the regulations declared by the Ministry of Interior to the municipalities, the process of killing dogs has started.
The proposed plan is to sterilize male and female dogs with non-invasive methods so as not to harm the dog, Mohajerani noted.
An initial sample of the product was used at shelters for dogs in the city of Arak, he said, adding that the provincial veterinarian department approved the results and sent them to the national veterinary organization.
The Ministry of Interior decided to visit the drug production line, and if the production process is acceptable, it will be approved.
Currently, surgery is the only method for sterilization of dogs, Mohajerani said, adding that in addition to having many side effects, the surgical method is associated with high costs.
He pointed out that the method should be promoted because it will make marketing successful.
It is enough to inform people and veterinarians about the costs, lower side effects, and valuable results of the product, he concluded.
