Iran-Made Positioner Controls Temperature, Pressure, Fluid Flow Variables in Oil, Gas Industries

TEHRAN (ANA)- An Iranian company stationed at the Elite Technology Incubator Center of the International Innovation Zone of Iran has been able to produce various types of positioners for application in oil and gas industries.

According to the company's technologists, using this system, variables such as temperature, pressure and fluid flow can be controlled in sensitive industries like oil, gas, mining and power plants.

“We have examined and repaired over 1,400 positioners of different brands and models, and this experience has become our greatest asset for designing and producing domestic samples,” said Saeed Shafiyee, the managing director of the company.

“The positioner is known as a precision instrument. Control valves are one of the important equipment that control variables like temperature, pressure and fluid flow with the help of the positioner. In other words, the positioner is installed on the control valves and the operating range of the valve is determined based on its settings,” he added.

“In sensitive industries like oil, gas, mining and power plants, this company's devices have not only replaced foreign brands costing thousands of dollars, but have also shown better performance in some harsh climatic conditions such as the Ahvaz power plant (in Southern Iran). We have produced a device that works continuously for two years without the need for recalibration,” Shafiyee said.

In the oil and gas industry, positioners are crucial for precise valve control in various applications like flow regulation, pressure control, and safety systems. 

These devices ensure valves reach their desired positions accurately by adjusting actuators based on control signals from the process control system. 

This precise control is vital for optimizing production efficiency, maintaining product quality, and enhancing safety, specially in environments with flammable materials.
