“Trade and economic relations with Iran are among Kyrgyzstan's priorities, and the presidents of the two countries have emphasized on this issue in their meeting in Samarkand,” Sedigov said in a meeting with the governor-general of South Khorasan province in Northeastern Iran.

He stressed his country’s readiness to develop cooperation with Iran in direct investment in key infrastructural projects.

Sedigov added that investments can be made in hydropower plants, roads, industrial and constructional fields, transformation industries, agriculture, health and tourism, noting that Kyrgyzstan's officials will help attraction of tourists and tradespersons.

Bishkek will also provide the Iranian businesspersons with special visa facilitations, he said, adding that the Iranian civilians and trade delegations are provided with two-month-long visa between Mashhad and Bishkek.

Authorities are coordinating to pave the ground for Tehran-Bishkek flights, the envoy said, noting that Kyrgyz officials have conducted negotiations with IranAir Company.

25 years ago, Iran and Kyrgyzstan signed a memorandum of understanding to promote and support mutual investment and therefore, there is no obstacle on the way of pursuing trade cooperation, Sedigov said.

In a relevant development last year, Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Rayeesi had voiced Iran’s readiness to share its technical and scientific experiences with Kyrgyzstan.

In a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Japarov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Uzbekistan, the Iranian president highlighted the country’s considerable scientific and technological progress that has been made under the pressure of sanctions.

“Iran is prepared to exchange its experiences and achievements to let Kyrgyzstan enjoy such major achievements,” Rayeesi added.

He also stressed the need for efforts to bolster the economic relations between Tehran and Bishkek, saying that Iran and Kyrgyzstan can promote regional cooperation in partnership with Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
