Iran-Made New Herbal Medicine Effective Alternative to Surgery of Kidney Stones

“This drug was obtained after four years of clinical trials and can treat and expel kidney stones up to 10 mm in size, and has shown 86% success in clinical trials,” said Zeynab Shakeri, the managing director of the knowledge-based company and professor at Islamic Azad University.
She explained that the medicine existing in the market are usually only effective for treating stones smaller than 5 or 6 mm, adding, “Our medicine is able to treat stones larger than 5 mm to 10 mm.”
“The new drug has been prepared from a combination of several medicinal plants that grow in Kohgilouyeh and Boyer Ahmad provinces and will now enter the market in the form of capsule,” Shakeri said.
In a relevant development in 2023, researchers of a knowledge-based company in Iran had also managed to produce dialysis filters for chronic kidney patients and succeeded in meeting the country's needs to the product.
Secretary of the Knowledge-Based Economy Development Department of the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Mostafa Qaneyee visited a knowledge-based company that produces dialysis filters for kidney patients during a trip to Alborz province.
This knowledge-based company, as the parent company, has put the production of dialysis filters on its agenda.
It produces a wide range of dialysis filters in low-flux and high-flux types and is now considered as one of the producers with expertise and experience in production of dialysis filters.
The filters produced by the knowledge-based company are produced in Iran in accordance to the international standards and have ISO 13485 (European Union) standards.
