Deputy Minister: Iran Produces 21 Million Tons of Natural Gas in 3 Months

“Last winter, a record of 880 million tons of dry gas was recorded, and this was the result of coordinated management in the ministry,” Tavakkoli said.
“In three months, the production process reached 31 million tons of dry gas and 21 million tons of natural gas,” he added.
“This year, we have started major repairs ahead of schedule and hope to complete the repairs by October. Also, innovative measures are underway to increase the technical skills of operators,” Tavakkoli said.
In relevant remarks in December, Tavakkoli had announced a record daily gas production of 862 million cubic meters (mcm), noting that this winter, nearly 80 to 82% of the total gas produced is being consumed by the residential, commercial, and small industrial sectors.
He emphasized that Iran has the world's second-largest gas reserves, with 75 to 76% of its gas fields located in the southern waters and 24% distributed across other regions.
Tavakkoli said that 34% of the total gas produced is used by power plants, 34% by industries, 25% by households, 4% by transportation (CNG), and 3% by other sectors.
