Isfahan’s Science, Research Town Exports 60 Million Dollars of Products
“Now 30 years has passed after the establishment of Isfahan’s Science and Research Town,” said Seyed Mehdi Abtahi Foroushani.
He underlined that after 30 years, Isfahan’s Science and Research Town, as one of the country's science parks, is hosting 762 companies.
“Two years ago, we had a turnover of 35,000 million tomans, exported nearly $60 million, and employed about 9,700 people in the Town,” Abtahi Foroushani said.
Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) is home of the UNESCO Centre for Technology Incubator and Science Park Development (IRIS).
ISTT has become a pioneering model for the management of technology incubators and science parks across the country. ISTT is an environment in which research centers, manufacturing and service companies, and R&D centers of governmental organizations have conglomerated into a vast technology town.
The park’s main activities include organizing research and development facilities to link the resources and skills of universities and research and industrial centers, guidance to the scientific community on strategic research areas, planning and creating the appropriate field for the application and commercialization of research results, and creating an appropriate scientific and research space to attract scholars and specialists both at home and abroad, as well as strategies for the effective transfer of knowledge.
