Iran Voices Readiness to Participate in Expo 2027 in Belgrade

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iranian Minister of Information and Communication Technology Sattar Hashemi submitted a message from Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian to his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vučić, stressing  Tehran’s readiness to participate in Expo 2027 in Belgrade.

The message from Pezeshkian stressed Iran's readiness to participate in Expo 2027 Belgrade, reinforcing Tehran's support for Serbia's candidacy to host the event.

He also noted that Serbia's hosting of the Expo would enhance regional solidarity and contribute to the development of the Western Balkans.

As both nations look to solidify their partnership, the discussions signify a promising future for cooperation in the ICT sector, with potential benefits for both countries' technological landscapes, he added.

During the meeting with Vučić, Hashemi also announced Tehran's readiness to elevate cooperation with Serbia to a strategic level.

The discussions focused on fostering cooperation in various technological fields, specially in communications, information technology, and artificial intelligence.

Hashemi underscored the historical ties between Iran and Serbia, stating, "Today is an opportunity to strengthen these bonds by enhancing the level of cooperation in various fields, especially information technology, communications, and artificial intelligence."

Vučić, for his part, expressed gratitude for the message from President Pezeshkian, acknowledging Iran's influential role in the Asia and Middle East regions.

He welcomed the prospect of enhanced relations with Tehran, particularly in communications and information technology.
