Official: 120 Knowledge-Based Firms Active in Iran’s Mining Sector

“At present, it is assessed that 120 knowledge-based companies in areas related to mining and mineral industries are stationed at the country's science and technology parks,” said Majid Vafayee Fard, the head of the innovation department of Iran’s Mining and Mineral Industries Innovation Center.
He added that by establishing the Mining and Mineral Industries Science and Technology Park as the country's sixth institutional park, a suitable platform will be provided for increasing the number of knowledge-based companies in this field.
"One of the requirements for the development of capable knowledge-based and technological companies in the field of mining and mineral industries is the establishment of a specialized science and technology park in this field. With the efforts of the IMINO Innovation and Technology Center, the support of the Presidential Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy and the Iranian Mines and Mineral Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), knowledge-based companies with technological products and services related to mining industries and technologies in this field are supported," Vafayee said.
Belarus is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe that borders Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. The country is one of the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) which is comprised of Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan that have a large market of 185 million people worth about $500 billion. Russia is the largest trading partner for Belarus and the small neighbor is the corridor for imports to Russia.
The Iranian and Belarusian economic and political officials are resolved to expand bilateral relations between the two nations and an increasing number of high-ranking economic Belarusian officials from the public and private sectors visiting Iran, including the visit of the Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to Tehran and his meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the exchange of business delegations between the two countries will provide an incetive to remove barriers.
According to the vice presidency’s report, the Iranian planned exhibition will tryp to provide reasons for the expansion of commercial, industrial exchanges and the sustainable export of goods and services in various product groups between Iran and Belarus.
