Iran-Made Educational Robots Make Learning Easier for Students
“The company's main job is producing educational robots for children aged five and above and students. We have also succeeded in designing and building a series of special products, including laboratory equipment which are precise and suitable for research and study,” Mohammad Madineyee, one of the company's researchers, told ANA.
“One of our robots enjoys the capability to move in the X and Y axes, and the user can apply it to perform different research tasks. The other robot in this series, which is named Delta, can move in the X, Y, and Z axes with three degrees of freedom. This robot's calculations are more difficult and precise, and it also moves faster,” he added.
“We have also provided robotic arms with 6 degrees of freedom that aerospace, mechanical, and electrical engineering students can use to simulate flight,” Madineyee said.
In a relevant development in January, an Iranian inventor had also succeeded in making a humanoid robot that can predict the rain time and extinguish fire.
“The name of this humanoid robot is Suga (meaning tomorrow in Old Persian). I have tried to give the robot an understanding of the outside world. For instance, it can show reaction by recognizing hands with the help of machine vision,” Hamed Taqavi, the inventor of the robot, told ANA.
“I have also mounted a series of touch sensors on the robot that can touch the user. This robot is also equipped with a fire sensor that can extinguish fire,” he added.
“This robot also has a heart rate sensor that can detect and notify high heart rates. I have also used other options in this robot for a better life for humans. For instance, this robot has a rain sensor that can predict when it will rain,” Taqavi said.
Scientists in Iran have made great progress in designing and making different robots.
Iranian experts in June 2021 conducted the first remote surgery on a dog by using the fully home-made robot, named Sina, making Iran the second country in the world after the US with the capability to develop surgical robots.
The robot has a surgical console that the surgeon can control and guide the surgery remotely by standing behind it and using two robotic arms.
Also a monitor has been placed next to the console that shows the image of surgery for surgeon clearly. The surgeon uses this system to control the surgery with a pedal and two robotic arms.
