Iranian Researcher Produces New Waffle Roof
“With this system, many of the problems of building construction in buildings are solved for the first time in the country simultaneously one-sided and two-sides at a low cost,” Hossein Makri, a fellow at the Islamic Azad University (IAU), Roudehen branch and a participant in the Asreh Omid Event held by IAU told ANA correspondent about his invention dubbed "Mehanit Waffle Roof" system.
He said he and his team have become a pioneer in the country's waffle industry.
This researcher said they produced the waffle roof with the support of the Center for the Development of Technological Units of IAU, Roudhan branch and added that waffle roofs are highly resistant against fire, earthquake and shockwaves.
“It has been selected as the safest, least vibrant, most technical, lightest, most economical and most luxurious roof in the country,” Makri added.
“Waffle roof has many advantages compared to other roof construction methods, the most important of which is being the most economical and quickest to construct in the shortest possible time and greater resistance and safety,” he added.
The national Asreh Omid Event was held in late May in Tehran’s Grand Mosalla with the participation of 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research teams and startups.
