Iran-Made Machine Able to Produce Different Types of Nanopowder
“Our company has made a device that is considered as a hi-tech device and can produce nanopowders on a semi-industrial scale,” Robab Mansouri, the managing director of the company, told ANA.
“The device produces all nanopowders of metal oxide, nanocarbons and silicosides, and these materials are an integral part of the best and modern technologies,” she added.
Mansouri said that the nanopowder machine has been designed to produce nanostructures and has no internal or external counterpart, adding, “The mechanism of this device is based on direct oxidation-reduction.”
“In other words, the device is suitable for the production of nanometals of metal oxides, the family of silicon compounds, the family of carbon compounds, fluorocarbons and polysilanes,” she underlined.
Nanopowders can be defined as powdered materials with individual particles in nanometer scale or materials with crystalline in nanometer scale.
Nanoparticles (NPs) are made up of a large amount of atoms or molecules bonded with each other with a total size varying from 1 nm to around 100 nm.
In a relevant development last year, scientists at an Iranian company had also managed to produce nanostructured silica powder with application in different industries.
‘Novin Fadak Sepahan’ company has made the silica nanoparticles with superficial nanometric porosity which are supplied in both A4 and A7 grades.
They benefit a uniform particles size distribution and high surface area, thereby being used as suitable additive for a wide variety of material systems.
Utilization of the nanotechnology synthesis method has created the possibility to produce nanoparticles with high surface area, superficial nanocavities and narrow particle size distribution.
They can be used for the nanopowder Grade A4 as reinforcement for the composite fabrication industries, additive for increasing the concentration of fluids, anti-blocking agent, additive for preventing the agglomeration of multiphase systems such as synthetic resins, agent for tailoring the rheology of industrial paints, appropriate alternative to bentonite in the industrial paints, and production of epoxy-based adhesives and sealants.
The product can also be utilized for the nanoparticles Grade A7 as anti-caking and anti-agglomeration agent, absorbent for liquids with 300 percent absorption capacity, drying agent in the production of granules and carrier in the production of powdery toxins.
