Iranian Company Makes Cosmetic Products without Harmful Chemical Compounds
‘Salamat Studio’ company stationed at the health development center of Islamic Azad University’s Shahr-e Kord branch has manufactured the chemical-free cosmetic products.
“Our products have been manufactured by using plant extracts, antioxidant and vegetable oils, safe preservatives, pigments without heavy elements, essential oils, suitable emulsifiers and safe chemical compounds with standard preparation and quality control analyzes like heavy element analysis, microbial culture, SPF test and pH,” Elham Mir-Momtaz, the managing director of the company, told ANA.
“Our cosmetic products which are based on plants can be produced and used for daily use,” she added.
The formulation and production of cosmetic products in the research department of Salamat Studio company is mainly based on oils, waxes, essences and herbal compounds, safe preservatives, quality-controlled pigments, and they are free of heavy elements and free of microbial contamination,” Mir-Momtaz said.
Relevant reports last year also said that another technological company in Iran had produced 14 special cosmetics and health products which make the country needless of imports and improve people’s oral and dental health.
“We started our activity with manufacturing natural and herbal products with the efforts of researchers in the cosmetics, medicinal plants and health promotion fields, and now our company is stationed at the Innovation Center of the Islamic Azad University’s Zanjan branch,” Parivash Qaderinia, a PhD in microbiology from Islamic Azad University’s Shiraz branch and the head of the company’s presiding board, told ANA.
Noting that the technological company is active in the field of cosmetics, hygiene and medicinal plants, she said that it has carried out research on different products, including nanogel mouthwash with rice extract and 2% chlorhexidine, bath cocktail, herbal and natural lipsticks without lead, herbal and natural lip balms, scented candles, air fresheners with herbal essence, various extracts of horsetail, malva and hyssop medicinal plants, rosemary and nigella sativa oils, body butter, skin scrub, all kinds of solid and creamy spirulina and ganoderma soaps, facial micellar water cleanser, bar lotion, carboxytherapy mask and anti-aging face.
Iran ranks fourth worldwide in tproduction of science in the field of traditional medicine, and the remarkable achievement will be improved in the coming years, Nafiseh Hosseini Yekta, the director of the Health Ministry’s Persian medicine office, said.
There are 2,500 plant species with medicinal properties in Iran where hundreds of local companies and research centers cultivate, harvest, and process these plants to extract their essential oils and create novel medications from them, luring in international businesses which are seeking low-price and high-quality products.
