India's 8-Core Industries Production Rise by 6.3 Percent in May
TEHRAN (ANA)- India's eight-core industries, cement, coal, crude oil, electricity, fertilizers, natural gas, refinery products and steel, registered a combined growth of 6.3 percent in May, as compared to the same month last year, according to the data released by the country's Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The eight core industries comprise 40.27 percent of the weight of data-x-items included in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP).
According to the data, in this May, coal production increased by 10.2 percent, electricity generation increased by 12.8 percent, natural bas production increased by 7.5 percent, petroleum refinery production 0.5 percent, and steel production 7.6 percent.
However, cement production declined by 0.8 percent, crude oil production 1.1 percent, and fertilizers 1.7 percent.
