Official: 17% of Iranian Knowledge-Based Firms Active in Oil-Related Industries
“Nearly 17% of knowledge-based companies are operating in the field of oil, gas and petrochemicals,” Saqafi said, addressing a conference dubbed as ‘development of relations with knowledge-based and technological companies’ in Tehran.
He added that knowledge-based firms are the basis of the progress of the country's industry and economy, stating, “Every movement and campaign which is based on knowledge will remain effectively.”
Saqafi underlined that entering the foreign market and the development of foreign exchange depends on knowledge-based activities, and added, “The financial turnover of knowledge-based companies has increased 10 times in the past five years, from 350,000 billion rials (Iranaian currency) to 3,500,000 billion rials at the start of the current Iranian year (started on March 21).”
In relevant remarks in April, Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji said that 150 knowledge-based companies had announced their readiness to cooperate with the oil industry.
"Over 150 knowledge-based companies have participated in the first step of the Ministry of Petroleum's call for the knowledge-based oil industry in priority and job-creating areas such as optimization, well rehabilitation, and value chain. After the final approval, in May, the conclusion of contracts and provision of facilities to these companies will begin," he wrote on his twitter page.
