Iranian Company’s High-Quality Nitrogen Tanks Find Foreign Customers

TEHRAN (ANA)- An Iranian knowledge-based company has succeeded in manufacturing high-quality oxygen and nitrogen tanks based on the standards and managed to sell them outside the country.

At present, the company is the largest manufacturer of liquid oxygen tanks, liquid nitrogen, liquid carbon dioxide and cryogenic equipment in West Asia with the ability to design and produce based on the international standards.

The company was able to receive the standards related to the product 7 years ago after 6 years of research and development, and subsequently participated in the Tehran refinery tender, while it had to compete with 7 foreign countries participating in this tender, and finally it won the tender for the construction of liquid nitrogen tanks due to the lower price.

After completing the Tehran refinery project by the knowledge-based company, it could receive an order worth of one million euros for producing tanks from a foreign company.

Earlier, in March 2023, two knowledge-based companies have jointly produced liquid nitrogen storage tanks for storing various biological products such as umbilical cord blood, bone marrow and peripheral blood at a temperature of minus 196 degrees Celsius.

Liquid nitrogen tanks are used for storing biological products such as stem cells, gametes, embryos, human and animal tissues and donated organs for transplantation for a long time at a temperature of minus 196 degrees Celsius and with different capacities in the pharmaceutical, health, food, medical and laboratory industries.

One of the knowledge-based companies, after two years of conducting research in cooperation with another knowledge-based company in the field of cryogenic tanks, succeeded in manufacturing two liquid nitrogen storage tanks with a capacity of 1,800 liters for the storage of biological products such as cord blood, bone marrow, peripheral blood, Umbilical cord tissue, fatty tissue and dental pulp.

The structure of a liquid nitrogen tank is a double-walled container in which two tanks are fused together. They are vacuum-jacketed tanks and there is no temperature exchange with the outside environment. For that, the nitrogen temperature inside the tank remains the same and it is possible to save up various samples in it for a long time.

The vacuum aids in the insulation of the inner tank and ensures that nitrogen evaporates much more slowly than it would if simply exposed to air. As long as there is actively evaporating liquid nitrogen still in the tank, the nitrogen vapors inside the tank are as cold as the -320 degrees F liquid nitrogen, keeping semen stored in the tank at an appropriate cryogenic temperature.
