Iran Records 8% Increase in Petrochemical Products Exports
“The exports of petrochemical products during the first two months of Farvardin and Ordibehesht of this year (March 21-May 20, 2024) hit 8.3 million tons worth $3.5 billion, indicating an increase by 4.5% in weight and 8% in value compared to the same period last year which were about 8 million tons valued at $3.2 million,” Mohammad Rezvani-Far, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) said.
He added that petrochemical exports accounted for 35% of the total weight and 44% of the total value of Iran’s non-oil exports.
According to the IRICA chairman, 20 different data-x-items of petrochemical products were exported in the first two months of this year, which include liquefied propane, methanol, butane, liquefied natural gas, petroleum gases and liquefied gaseous hydrocarbons.
Rezvani-Far concluded that the increase in weight and value of petrochemical product exports in the first two months of this year shows an upward trend that could continue until yearend.
