Iranian Companies Unveil 3 Technological Products at INOTEX 2024
The three technological products were unveiled at the opening ceremony of the INOTEX international exhibition held in Tehran’s Pardis Technology Park in the presence of the deputy of the Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Mehdi Safarinia, Zimbabwe’s science minister and the experts working in Iran’s innovation ecosystem.
These products are used in automobile, shoe, sports equipment, glue industries and in making industrial parts and as raw materials for the production of specific parts.
One of the three products unveiled at the INOTEX this year was thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) which is any of a class of polyurethane plastics with many properties, including elasticity, transparency, and resistance to oil, grease, and abrasion. Technically, they are thermoplastic elastomers consisting of linear segmented block copolymers composed of hard and soft segments.

The TPU is a versatile, resistant, durable, and recyclable material, which is why it is present in many industrial sectors. It is a highly versatile elastomer with unique properties that offers both superior performance and processing flexibility. Essentially, it is a block copolymer, the chemical structure of which consists of alternating sequences of hard and soft segments formed by the reaction of diisocyanate with short-chain diol (so-called chain extender) and diisocyanate with long-chain diol.
TPU can be produced in several ways. The most common production method for thermoplastic polyurethane is reactive extrusion.
This product has no domestic manufacturer, and in recent years, its various grades used to be imported from China, Italy, Turkey, and Germany for various applications, including high pressure pneumatic hoses, dust collectors in car manufacturing, industrial adhesives, and many other industrial applications.
The second innovative product unveiled was intelligent and autonomous-driving robot for carrying 500 kg, produced by Tonb software company. Intelligent and automatic cargo transportation in production lines in factories, warehouses and logistics terminals is one of the features of the product. This product is produced for the first time in the country with a completely indigenous software system, fully autonomous and has intelligent route detection. This product has the capability to identify and prevent obstacles, has a robotic fleet management system and traffic control.
The third innovative and technological products unveiled at the 13th INOTEX was four types of diagnostic kits for identifying common autoimmune diseases. Early detection, prediction and evaluation of autoimmune diseases including lupus, antiphospholipid syndrome and vasculitis are among the capabilities of these four kits that were produced by the knowledge-based company Atiyeh company. The research and development stages of these products have been completed and all 4 products have succeeded in obtaining a production license from the National Medical Device Directorate (IMED) which is part of the Iran Food and Drug Administration (IFDA).
The exhibition was held on May 7-10, 2024. It is the largest gathering of startups and innovators in Southwest Asia, according to its official website.
