Afghanistan's Central Bank Puts on Auction 16 Million USD
TEHRAN (ANA)- Afghanistan's central bank announced it put on auction 16 million U.S. dollars in a bid to maintain the stability of the national currency, the afghani.
The Afghani has been swelling against foreign currencies, especially the U.S. dollar, with the exchange rate of one U.S. dollar having dropped from 73 afghanis in March to 71.8 afghanis in April, showed data from the Da Afghanistan Bank.
The Afghan central bank auctioned 15 million dollars two weeks ago in order to keep the national currency strong.
