Iranian Researchers Capabilities in Radiology Presented in ESR 2024
“An artificial intelligence (AI) tool to empower junior radiologists in breast cancer screening” was the title of a paper presented by Iranian radiologist Mehran Arab Ahmadi in the ECR 2024 held in Vienna, Austria.
At the ECR 2024 conference, Arab Ahmadi, who manages the research and development department of a knowledge-based company in Iran, presented the findings of their research on using AI in increasing the sensitivity and diagnosis of breast cancer imaging, which was welcomed by other participating researchers in the event.
This technological method is currently being utilized in the radiology department of the TUMS Cancer Institute at the Tehran-based Imam Khomeini Hospital.
The method could also be used in other medical centers and laboratories across the country.
Developed and completed with the support of “The Headquarters for the Development of Digital Knowledge-Based Economy,” the achievement has put Iran on the list of few countries with artificial intelligence technology in medical and cancer imaging in the world.
This achievement has been reflected by specialized websites in radiology and breast cancer mammography such as AuntMinnie and Bidex.
As Europe’s largest congress for radiology and imaging, ECR represents an entire ecosystem of science, innovation, and entertainment waiting to be explored. It’s a world that invites radiologists, industry partners and other imaging professionals to become pioneers, uncovering the wonders of an unknown planet – all in the heart of Vienna.
