Iran Awards Best Knowledge-Based Firms for Pioneering, Continuous Work in R&D
“Technology is a capability that comes from knowledge and it is different from a knowledge-based product. Technology is the thing that has been paid less attention to, while we, in Iran, have been able to do well in the production of science, entrepreneurship and making products,” said Shaqayeq Haqjou Javanmard, addressing the closing ceremony of the National NEXT Technology Award, which was held in Isfahan on February 21.
“This is one of the important policies of science and technology in this period of time to cooperate with companies and technology partners for development,” she added.
“In line with the NEXT Award, we have defined a special award under the title of Pioneering and Continuous Work in Research and Development to give prize to companies that have progressed with research and development. The awards are given to two companies that do not have a new product but have been researching and developing for 10 years to improve a part of the product. This ability and continuous work and the capability to improve and stand is the important thing that these companies have achieved,” Haqjou Javanmard said.
Isfahan science and research town, which annually organizes the Sheikh Bahai National Technology Festival with the aim of promoting innovation and technology, held the ‘NEXT’ event on February 21 with the aim of helping the development of emerging global technologies in Iran, encouraging the elements of the ecosystem to participate more seriously in entering and investing in this branch of technologies, and identifying and supporting the country's technologists to develop their product portfolio by using emerging global technologies.
