Multipurpose System for Measurement of Agricultural Products’ Specifications Developed in Iran
“Improper drying of the agricultural products causes the lack of strength and fragility in the products in addition to reducing their quality, marketability and color,” Fatemeh Nadi, a faculty member of Islamic Azad University’s Azadshahr branch, told ANA on the sidelines of Asreh Omid Event in Tehran.
Elaborating on the newly-developed system to measure the specifications of agricultural products, she said that by using this system, the drying process can be monitored even by non-experts, and the product can be removed from the machine at the right time, while the process can be controlled at home and the drying system can be turned off after the end of drying process.
“The system continuously collects data on temperature, humidity, sample temperature (non-contact), weight and liquid temperature (if needed). A camera has also been installed in this system for taking images continuously based on the user's settings,” Nadi said.
Stressing that connection to the smartphone software to view data and the possibility of sending data via the internet are among the advantages of the multi-purpose system for measuring the agricultural products’ specifications, she said, “The system can be used to monitor and make management decisions in different systems of the food sector.”
In a relevant development, a technological company in Ardabil province in Northwestern Iran had also manufactured a new device which can extract essential oils and dry fruits and herbal medicine.
“Ayandeh Machinery Industry Development Company” in Ardabil in the Northern part of Iran has made efforts to support gardeners and farmers in the area of production by manufacturing machines for conversion industries, including essential oil extractor and dryer devices.
“Given the large amount of waste in agricultural and garden products in the country and lack of a processing system for these products, the empty position of the transformation industries in this field is quite clear,” Hassan Abdollahzadeh, the manager of the technological unit, told ANA.
“Therefore, all efforts of the company have been focused on supporting gardeners and farmers in the field of production by manufacturing machines for conversion industries, including essential oil extractor and dryer systems,” he added.
Asreh Omid Event was held in Tehran's Mosalla from May 29 to June 1, 2022.
It aimed to exhibit new achievements and products in the technological and innovation arenas in line with opening new windows towards strengthening the idea of creating ground for knowledge-based businesses at the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Azad University.
Some 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research centers, and startups took part in Asreh Omid Event.
