Official: Tehran to Host Health Ministers from 24 Countries
Mohammad Hossein Niknam said in a webinar with the participation of ambassadors of the countries invited to the first international conference on universal health coverage that the conference will be held on March 5 -6, 2024 in Tehran, and the health ministers of 24 countries have been invited to attend the conference.
“Holding this conference is a good opportunity for countries to exchange opinions on various health, treatment and medical education issues, and it is also an opportunity for them to get acquainted with the achievements of our country in the field of health and to visit medical centers, pharmaceutical companies, medical equipment and scientific centers,” the Iranian health ministry official added.
Niknam hailed the achievements that the Islamic Republic of Iran has made in the field of health despite all the pressures imposed by hostile Western countries and said, “Many international health experts believe that great activities have taken place in Iran and that our country has become a role model for many other countries.”
He said that Iran’s achievements in the health field come from merging the medical science with the provision of health services and creating a PHC network management (Primary Health Care (PHC) network) throughout the nation.
“Today, more than 8,000 foreign students are studying in Iran, and great research projects have been conducted in the country, and more than 300 hospitals in the country have permissions to receive foreign patients,” the health official added.
“Holding this conference will have important and influential achievements in the field of health for the country and people,” he concluded.
