Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is a technique used to obtain an infrared spectrum of absorption or emission of a solid, liquid, or gas. An FTIR spectrometer simultaneously collects high-resolution spectral data over a wide spectral range. Able to cope with solid, liquid and gaseous analytes, it has become one of the most widely practiced analytical instrumental techniques in science.

“Every substance has its own spectrum, therefore spectroscopic systems are needed to analyze and identify different states of solid, liquid, gas or plasma of those substances,” Amir Hossein Fakhar, the managing director of the technological company said in an interview with local Iranian media.

“Every substance that is in the ultraviolet and infrared range requires a series of special spectrometers. Because of that, in recent years, we have conducted extensive research in order to produce spectroscopic devices, especially infrared spectroscopic equipment,” Fakhar said.

He added that the infrared optical spectrum analyzers (OSA) as one of their products and explained that QSA is a precision instrument designed to measure and display the distribution of power of an optical source over a specified wavelength span.

“This type advanced spectrometers which are made in this company is able to measure and alnalyze the infrared spectral range with high spectral resolution. These types of spectrometers can be converted into a Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectrometer by adding a light source and sample location to the system,” the researcher further added.

He went on to say that the QSA analyzers can be used in the fields of medicine, biotechnology, chemistry, oil and gas, petrochemicals, and any field that relates to analysis.

“Portable Ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy systems are other products of the company. This model is an upgraded system of spectrometer systems that can be used as an excellent option for educational purposes in laboratories and research centers,” Fakhar underlined.

According to him, the UV-VIS sepctrophometer has advantages such as the flexibility of the system in the three areas of emission, absorption and reflectance spectroscopies in one package.

“The portability of this version of sepctrophometer is designed in a way that the user can obtain the best results in any environment including laboratory, industrial and open air by simply changing accessories such as cuvette, sample placement solution, reflective fiber, standard reflective tablet and gas tube. For example, the source assembly of the light source-cuvette holder can be set aside and with the help of the light source assembly and reflective fiber, reflective measurements in harsh environments can be done. Its metal body contributes to less dust entering, high strength, no electrical noise and preventing the crossing of disturbing radiation inside,” the researcher further said to explain more usages of the UV-VIS sepctrophometer device.

“The software of this type of spectrometers, which is coded with ‘Lab View’ and ‘C’ software, has the ability to provide any output including absorption spectrum, transmission spectrum, absorption coefficient, reflectance in accordance with wavelength or reciprocal centimeter in GPJ, Excel, Txt format according to what needs be,” he went on to say.
