Iran-Made Nanocatalysts Widely Used in Different Industries
At present, the names of over 80 nanocatalysts can be seen in the list of nanoscale certified products in Iran, many of which are used in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries, and some are applied in the auto-making industry.
Exir Novin Farayand Asia is an Iranian company which produces ethylene oxide for ethylene glycol production units.
The company also makes catalyst for converting acetylene to ethylene (used in Gachsaran, Morvarid and Amirkabir petrochemicals), the isomerization catalyst of xylenes (used in Bou Ali Sina petrochemicals), ethylbenzene and paraxylene.
Gostaresh Fanavari Kharazmi is another Iranian company which produces desulfurization nanocatalysts, natural gas reforming catalysts and natural gas reforming catalyst.
Other products of the company include active clay catalyst to remove olefinic unsaturated compounds from the stream of aromatic compounds, nanostructured catalyst for primary reforming of natural gas water vapor, semi-active nanostructured catalyst for natural gas reforming, nanostructured catalyst for methane production process (methanation catalyst), nanostructured catalyst for hydrogen sulfurization (HDS), active natural gas reforming nanostructured catalyst, high temperature water-gas transfer nanostructured catalyst, natural gas flow desulfurization catalyst, low temperature water-gas transfer catalyst, natural gas reforming catalyst, base of natural gas reforming nanostructured catalyst, nanostructured catalyst for high temperature water-gas transfer (HT-100S) and nickel oxide nanopowder.
Sarv Oil and Gas Industries Development Company is another nanocatalyst-producing company in Iran which makes a catalyst for the production of urea and ammonia used in Shiraz, Razi and Pardis refineries. The next company is Ardakan Industrial Ceramics Company which produces nanostructured catalysts for sulfur recovery and a variety of alumina-based catalysts containing nanoparticles.
Also, Sanat Afarin Mahan Company is another firm which produces and commercializes nanocatalytic converters for all types of home-made cars like Quik, Tiba and Zamyad.
Partofarazan Avije Kimia Company is another Iranian firm which manufactures catalytic converters for all types of domestic cars like Samand, Dena, Pride, Kara van, Peugeot 405, Peugeot 206, and Shahin.
Earlier reports, in December, also said that LTS and Methanation catalysts produced in a technological company in Iran were loaded and utilized in Hengam Petrochemical Methanol Synthesis Reactor.
Hengam Petrochemical company with the capacity of producing 2,200 tons of ammonia per day is located in South Pars Special Economic Zone (Phase 2 Petrochemical Projects). In 2007, this petrochemical complex signed a license purchase contract and the basic engineering package of its ammonia unit with a Danish company. But, after several years now, the ammonia unit of the complex has entered the production phase with the catalysts of one of the Iranian technology companies.
After examining Iran's catalysts market, Hengam Petrochemicals gave the production, loading and commissioning of its Methanato and LTS reactors to an Iranian technological company, considering the suitable performance of its ammonia synthesis catalysts in the trial and industrial phases.
A complicated technology has been used to produce the LTS catalysts employed in Hemgan Petrochemicals. These catalysts were produced by experts at the knowledge-based Iranian company after conducting continuous research and passing successful trial phases. They are currently loaded and launched in the reactors of the Hengam petrochemical ammonia unit.
