Iranian Academician Develops New Device for Saving Water in Irrigation

TEHRAN (ANA) – An Islamic Azad University professor has made a new device that can reduces the volume of water consumed in irrigation, a report said.

"The water consumption management device in agriculture can measure soil moisture and inject the required water according to the stages of plant growth," Abdullah Bohrani, the faculty member of IAU-Ramhormoz branch said on the sidelines of the “Age of Hope” (Asreh Omid Event) scientific exhibition held by the Islamic Azad University (IAU).

The University professor added that his project will create jobs for about 80 people as his company will make a large number of the device to meet the needs of more than 4 million farmers in the country.

He described the Age of Hope exhibition as an opportunity to gain more support for the manufacturing units from the IAU, noting that the university sponsored his entire project.

Islamic Azad University's "second step of revolution" under the title of Asreh Omid Event was held in Tehran's Mosalla from May 29 to June 01, 2022 to exhibit new achievements, equipments and products in the technological and innovation arenas in line with opening new windows towards strengthening the idea of creating ground for knowledge-based businesses at the 40th anniversary of establishment of the Islamic Azad University.
