Weekly Trade of Commodities at IME Market Exceeds 736 Million Dollars

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) witnessed trade of over 2.8 million tons of commodities with a total trading value of more than $736mln on its physical market during the week which ended on December 22, 2023.

The IME witnessed trade of 2,832,048 tons of commodities with a total trading value of almost $736 million on its physical market last week, a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR said.

The exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 2,427,313 tons of commodities valued at more than $542 million.

On this floor the IME sold 1,139,713 tons of cement, 562,000 tons of iron ore, 554,505 tons of steel, 157,500 tons of sponge iron, 11,015 tons of aluminum, 7,403 tons of copper, 1,330 tons of zinc and 200 tons of molybdenum concentrate.

Furthermore, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 392,748 tons of commodities worth more than $186 million.

Commodities traded on this floor included 106,365 tons of bitumen, 95,919 tons of polymeric products, 94,290 tons of vacuum bottom, 53,500 tons of lube cut, 28,532 tons of chemicals, 10,410 tons of sulfur, 3,583 tons of oil, 802 tons of petroleum products and 350 tons of feedstocks.

The IME also traded within the same week 11,987 tons of goods on its side market.

IME is one of the four major stock markets of Iran, the other three markets are Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE), Iran’s over-the-counter (OTC) market known also as Iran Fara Bourse (IFB), and Iran Energy Exchange (IRENEX).
