Iranian Company Produces Sign Language Platform for Deaf People
“This platform is a specially designed tool for the deaf. All the content that is uploaded on this platform has been made accessible for the deaf either in sign language or in the form of subtitles,” Mohammad Hossein Rahimzadeh, managing director of the platform said.
“This platform allows the users to have subtitles, which can also be used for children with RP (children who have lost night vision). Tinnitus pigmentosa (RP) is a rare and hereditary disease in which the retina of the eye is slowly and gradually destroyed and eventually leads to blindness,” he explained.
The managing director of the platform further stated, "So far, 5,000 users registered on the website, and fortunately, it has been able to be used by deaf people."
“When the issue of platform accessibility is raised, it should be in such a way that all people can benefit from it, and the platform we have created can be used by both healthy and deaf people,” Rahimzadeh went on to say.
“Films, TV series and educational topics are among the contents of this platform, and currently we have also placed Iranian and foreign educational packages on this platform,” Rahimzadeh said.
According to the researcher, the content of the platform can be used by any deaf person who has the ability to understand sign language and can read and write.
