Iranian Official: Ankara Hospital Equipped with 95% Iranian-Made Systems
Mohammadreza Kompany made the comments in a seminar in Tehran to discuss successful export experiences where he also said that “10,000 hospital beds have been added to hospitals every year, and … this year 43 hospitals will be equipped with 90% of Iranian-made medical data-x-items and equipment".
He pointed to the export of medical exports, and said, “Turkey has installed 3,400 hospital beds in the Ankara hospital and there are Iranian equipment in this hospital. An example of that is the device for monitoring vital signs of patient’s heart as one of the specialized systems.”
Kompany further stated the Iran-made equipment meets European standards, adding Iranian factories supplied for the country’s needs for medical equipment during Covid-19 pandemic.
Noting that in Covid-19 time, Iranian manufacturers supplied 7,000 ventilators within 4 months, he added, “This was not the case in the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy.”
Referring to the country's challenges in development of equipment, he said, “We have problems in the field of knee and hip prostheses, etc. and importing related equipment is really costly.”
“We import echo(echocardiogram), MRA, CT scan and mammography devices,” he went on to say.
“In ultraspecialized areas such as cardiac stands, heart balloons, cerebral shunts and sutures, we have imports that require nearly $2.7 billion that is not too much. That’s the case in the medicine field,” the medical official also noted.
