Iran Offers Creating Joint Investment Fund to Eurasian Countries

TEHRAN (ANA)- The Iranian Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs and Trade Ahmad Assadzadeh said in the Russian Energy Week 2022 that creating energy consortia and joint investment fund can boost cooperation among the Eurasian countries.

Speaking at the 4-day Russian Energy Event in Moscow, Ahmad Assadzadeh emphasized the need to develop infrastructure in the Eurasian region in order to boost cooperation in the energy field among the Eurasian member states.

The Iranian deputy oil minister also pointed to some examples in the railway and port infrastructure sectors and stressed the necessity of developing cooperation in those fields.

He also made some suggestions such as developing energy consortia, creating a joint investment fund, etc., to strengthen the strategic links among the countries in the Eurasian region, and considered it as necessary to boost the energy secretariat of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for the promotion of energy projects in the countries of this region.

On the sidelines of the trip to Russia, a cooperation agreement was signed between Energy Gostar Sina Holding of Iran and Russian companies of ZN Vostok and Promsi for the construction of semi-automatic drilling rigs.

One of the other goals of the Iranian delegation’s trip is to make the necessary preparation for the best possible holding of Iran-Russia joint economic commission.

Moreover, different Iranian institutions and ministries coordinated by the Oil Ministry, were holding bilateral meetings with their Russian counterparts in order to finalize the document of the joint commission and the road map of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The 16th Joint Economic Energy Commission between Iran and Russia will be held in Moscow on November 01 under the chairmanship of Javad Owji, Iranian oil minister and Alexander Novak, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.
