Iran Reports 9% Growth in Unloading of Oil, Non-oil Goods

TEHRAN (ANA)- The figures on operations to unload oil and non-oil goods in the first six months of the current Iranian year (started on March 21) showed a six percent growth in unloading of oil-related goods, an 11 percent growth in unloading the non-oil goods and a nine percent growth in unloading both oil and non-oil goods compared to the same period last year.

According to a report by the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran, the amount of unloading of oil products in the ports owned and governed by the Ports and Maritime Organization was equal to 13,407, 287 tons, the amount of unloading of non-oil goods was equal to 25,924,564 tons, and the total amount of unloading of oil and non-oil goods was equal to 39,331,851 tons by the middle of September.

Also, the unloading of oil and non-oil goods in the first six months of the current year showed a 6% growth in unloading of oil goods, an 11% growth in unloading of non-oil goods, and a 9% growth in unloading of oil and non-oil goods compared to the same period last year.

Meantime, the loading of oil products in the ports owned and governed by the Ports and Maritime Organization was equal to 39,160,443 tons, the loading of non-oil goods was equal to 26,964,938 tons, and the total loading of oil and non-oil goods was equal to 66,107,381 tons, which indicates a 4% growth in the loading of oil and non-oil goods in the mentioned period.

The report added that the unloading and loading in the container operations sector was also equal to 1,238,371 TEU by the middle of September, which shows an 11% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

Statistics released earlier this week also showed that 38,650,000 tons of non-oil goods, valued at $24.198 billion, were exchanged between Iran and 15 neighboring states in the first half of the current year, showing a seven percent growth.

Iran’s trade value with neighboring states registered a seven percent from March 21 to September 23, registering a seven percent growth as compared to the last year’s corresponding period.

Among the neighboring countries, the maximum export growth is related to Saudi Arabia with a 532 percent hike while the least export growth is related to Pakistan with a 350 percent rise.

Although Iran’s non-oil trade value has registered a seven percent growth in this period, the country’s export volume has shown an 18 percent decline, the report added.

The Islamic Republic of Iran exported 29,280,000 tons of non-oil goods, valued at $12,327,304,446, to neighboring countries from Mar. 21 to Sep. 23, showing a 19 and 10 percent growth in weight and value respectively.
