Iranian Specialists Manufacture Semi-Chassis Flying Car with 280 km/h Speed
“The car we designed is a combination of a multi-rotor and a normal car and any of these phases can be separated,” Mohammad Amin Farahmandfar, the project manager of Kandou team, told ANA.
He stated that the multi-rotor of the flying car can be used as a normal car, adding, “This project, a semi-chassis car with four-wheel drive was built and it has the ability to travel 700 meters with a single charge and a maximum speed of 280 km/h.”
“In the air phase, the flying car has high flight durability due to having a multi-rotor. The range of similar foreign samples is much weaker than the domestic sample. This plan can also be used in the military, aid and tourism fields. Its multi-rotor can also be used separately and on the ground,” Farahmandfar said.
In a relevant development in October, Iranian experts succeeded in developing various classes of the multi-rotor system with the capability to fly automatically and carry heavy cargo weighing up to 25 kg.
“The heavy class multi-rotor (D25 model) with 6 engines and a maximum take-off weight of 68 kg and a maximum speed of 14.4 m/s was designed and built at the Iran Space Research Center,” Ahmad Soleimani, a commercialization expert at Iran Space Research Center which works under the supervision of Iran Space Agency (ISA), told ANA.
He added that the system can be used in all types of monitoring, surveillance and imaging missions, saying, “It enjoys the capability to fly automatically and carry heavy cargo weighing up to 25 kg with a range of more than 10 km and has successfully passed all types of quality, performance and flight tests.”
“Using clean fuel and energy, saving time in traffic, monitoring targets from above with high imaging power, job creation and the possibility of providing services to neighboring countries are among the important advantages of this system,” Soleimani said.
