Iranian Researchers Design Patrolling Drone with Nest
“The drone which is equipped with a nest is considered as a very new product in the world, and this company has achieved the technical know-how to produce it,” Mehdi Joudi, a representative of the knowledge-based company, told ANA.
Noting that drones with a nest do not need a pilot, he said, “This system consists of three separate parts and includes the drone, the nest or box, and under-web software.”
Joudi noted that such a drone is used for patrolling the mines, adding, “The system works in a way that the users place the nest and the drone inside the complex, and for instance, the manager from Tehran can easily monitor and control the mine by pressing a button embedded in a web application.”
“The drone automatically takes off from the nest and can patrol the mine without the need for an operator,” he added.
“The drone transmits images to the user online. The user can control the flying system to a limited extent, but is unable to crash it,” Joudi underlined.
In a relevant development last year, Secretary of University of Tehran’s Tourism Scientific Association announced production of a smart drone which can be used for the promotion of virtual tourism.
“Smart tourism is the need of today's societies and we have designed drones that can fly for virtual tourism from thousands of kilometers away by combining physics and tourism,” Saman Keyvannia told ANA.
He explained that by using the drone, the tourist can sit at home and use the smart drone which has been stationed at a desired tourist spot to enjoy the attractions virtually but live.
“The advantage of the smart drone is the live nature of footages. In addition, our drones can be charged by fossil fuel at any place while we control their speed and altitude from thousands of kilometers away,” Keyvannia said.
“We can choose a number of sites in other countries to send the drones and when the drones are stationed in the place, they have the ability to display the tourist places live,” he added.
