Iranian Researchers Produce O-ring Manufacturing Device Using AI

Researchers at a knowledge-based company in Iran have produced the quality and dimensional control device for producing O-ring, felt washer and bowl as their new product to utilize the detection algorithms based on computer vision technology to control the quality of O-rings.
The quality and dimensional control device for O-ring manufacturing is a new product of the company that employs algorithms based on machine vision.
The newly-produced device has the potential to revolutionize manufacturing industry.
Machine vision (MV) includes technology and method to provide imaging-based automatic inspection and analysis for automatic inspection, process controling, and robot guidance, usually in industry.
MV uses the latest artificial intelligence technologies to give industrial equipment the ability to see and analyze tasks in smart manufacturing, quality controling, and workers' safety.
It has extensive applications across various industries, including steel, electronics, automotive, polymer, food, pharmaceuticals, medical, and healthcare sectors.
On the sidelines of the 17th IranPlast International Exhibition, where the device was unveiled, Mehdi Nadi, managing director of the knowledge-based company pointed to the diverse applications of machine vision technology, emphasizing its role in transforming production lines into smart systems.
Nadi stated that the primary application of this technology lies in the car industry, but it extends to other sectors such as healthcare and construction.
“This product has great export potential to regional countries, especially Turkey and the Persian Gulf region," he said, adding, "The price of our manufactured product differs significantly compared to the products of reputable German and Italian companies."
