Iranian Knowledge-Based Firm Produces Strong Glue with Industrial Application
Butyl adhesives which were imported from abroad for sealing in automotive industry and household appliances were produced by one of the knowledge-based companies which will maintain their strength and adhesion for 10 years.
“Our main activity is focused on the production of butyl adhesives which are being produced in different shapes and sizes,” said Mohammad Movahhedian, a research and development (R&D) expert of the knowledge-based company.
Noting that these types of adhesives are produced both in the form of tape and liquide, he said, “This product is considered as the best adhesive for attaching aluminum spacers to glass in double-glazed windows. The glue is based on polyisobutylene and it prevents infiltration of steam and air.”
Movahhedian stated that the product can be used in the automotive and home appliance industries, saying, “This glue is used as a sealant and waterproofing agent.”
He underlined the high adhesive strength, high thermal resistance and high strength as the advantages of this product, and said, “It can maintain its adhesion and strength for up to 10 years while the surface of the adhesive does not crack or harden. It also has good adhesion with materials like glass, aluminum, zinc alloy, plated steel, stainless steel, etc.”
In a relevant development in August, specialists at an Iranian company used nanotechnology to produce megastone adhesives with application in connecting all types of building stones, porcelain ceramics, and specially large size slabs on metal, concrete, etc.
“Our research company operates as a subsidiary of Alvan paint and resin cooperative holding, focusing on research and development on different products,” said Mohammad Sadeq Kouchaki, the manager of research and development (R&D) department of Technologihay-e Bartar Farma engineering company.
“In this company, various products like wave absorbent paints, fireproof coatings, water tank coatings, antibacterial paints, floor coatings, slow-burning paints, special paints for underwater applications, nanosil coating, megastone adhesives, etc. are produced,” he added.
Kouchaki said that other products of the company include silera surface repellent (nanosil), cement fireproof coating, water-based antibacterial paint, water-based acrylic lacquer (matte and semi-glossy), paint absorbent, and electromagnetic waves (shield color).
