Iran Exports Nanocatalytic Converters of Auto Industry to Neighboring States
“Iran Delco produces automotive nanocatalytic converters containing metal nanoparticles to reduce exhaust gas pollutants which plays an important role in reducing air pollution,” Alireza Majidnia said.
“By using nanotechnology, we managed to reduce the price of converters and currently our products are 15% cheaper than foreign samples, and therefore, many export opportunities have been created and we exported nearly 100,000 parts last year,” he added.
“We cooperate with almost all domestic car manufacturers and supply half of their converters, and 90% of the spare parts in the market are also supplied by our company,” Majidnia said.
He said that Delco company also succeeded in achieving the technology to produce catalytic converters with euro 4 and euro 5 emission standards, adding, “Different precious metals, including platinum, palladium, and rhodium, are distributed in these catalytic converters in the form of nanoparticles in all catalytic base surfaces that enjoy high porosity.”
In a relevant development in June, an Iranian company had also used a special nanostructured metal film to produce automotive mirrors with high resistance to moisture and erosion.
‘Quzh Abgin Mobin’ has made the product which is an automotive mirror coated by a nanostructured metallic film to improve its resistance to erosion and humidity, and decrease the reflected light while image resolution remains unaffected.
The deposition of a nanostructured metal film on the fabricated automotive mirror leads to higher durability, improved resistance to erosion and humidity and reduction in reflected light while image resolution remains unaffected.
The product can mainly be used as car mirror for driving at night.
