“Using artificial intelligence, this software can convert Farsi texts as a natural language into speech (voice). Due to its various applications, this software has been used by various educational, dubbing and subtitling companies, audio book publishers and other companies,’ Reza Rezazadegan, managing director of the Iranian company based at Pardis Technology Park said. Pardis Technology Park is under the auspices of Iran’s Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.

A chatBot is software that simulates human-like conversations with users via chat. Its key task is to answer user questions with instant messages.

The Iranian researcher stated that the text-to-speech tool can also be of great help to blind people as it converts text into voices for them.

Meanwhile, he said that because the signs and diacritics in the Farsi language are not written when they are down on the paper as a written text, language processing using artificial intelligence for them is different and difficult as compared to other languages such as English. He further noted that there are differences between writing (how words are typed down) and speaking (how the words are pronounced) in Farsi, which makes the language process for artificial intelligence more difficult.

Rezazadegan also declared the production of Farsi smart chatBot by heir company, explaining, “This chatBot is in the final stages of its production and is a kind of big chatBot. This means that a large amount of data and content has been taught to it and a high response capability has been predicted for it.”

The managing director of the Iranian company went on to talk about to advantages that their locally produced software has over foreign equivalents such as the GPT chatBot, saying, “Not only gaining access to them (foreign-made models) is difficult due to sanctions, they are not designed in a way that match Iran's culture and data well. Some of the answers of these chatBots may not be accurate, while in the design of the Persian this company’s chatBot, it has been tried to resolve all these problems as much as possible.”
