Iran's Exports to West Asian Countries Increase by 3 Million US Dollars
Farzad Piltan, the Director General of West Asia Department at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) said, “The West Asian countries include the Persian Gulf littoral states, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey. According to statistics released by the Iranian Customs, in the first four months of 1402 (beginning on March 21, 2023), Iran's exports to those countries were about 20, 850,000 tons worth about $7.230 billion.”
“The figures of exports to the West Asian countries show an increase of about $3 million in value and about 3,800,000 million tons in weight compared to the same period last year,” Piltan added.
He added that the West Asian countries’ share in the country's total exports was about 45.4%, indicating an increase of 4.4% compared to the same period in 1401 (March 21, 2022-2023).
Iraq, Turkey and the UAE were the country's second to fourth export destinations during the first fourth months of this year period, after China.
The TPOI official added that Oman, Kuwait, Syria, Qatar and Lebanon were also ranked 7th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 21st in the country's exports.
As regards trade with Saudi Arabia, he noted that despite the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the trade between the two countries has not yet been officially and directly conducted, therefore no report of Iran's exports to Saudi Arabia was released during the aforementioned period.
