Russian Scientist Names Iran as Most Important Part of New Silk Road + (Phone Interview)
TEHRAN (ANA)- A high-ranking Russian archaeologist believes that Iran is the most important part of ‘the New Silk Road’ among whole Eurasian nations.
Russian archaeologist Dr. Sergey Laptev, who is a specialist and well-known researcher of the Great Silk Road, told ANA on Monday, August 21st, that Iran has always been the most important part of the Old and the New Silk Roads.
Laptev, who had traveled to Iran to take part in some seminars for promotion of Tehran-Moscow cultural cooperation, responded to ANA’s questions of ‘What is strategic about Iran’s location in the world?’ and ‘Does Iran have good transportation to be one of the most important parts of the New Silk Road or Chin’s a Belt and a Road Initiative or even an International North-South Transport Corridor?’
