Iran-Made Nano-Based Zirconia Coating Increases Anti-Corrosion Properties in Metals
‘Schiller Farayand Pars’ company made the product which is a nano-thick zirconia coating that can be applied on steel and aluminum substrates to provide a better corrosion performance.
It is a lightweight, cost-effective, and non-hazardous coating that can tightly adhere to the underlying substrate.
The deposition of a nano-thick zirconia coating has led to improved corrosion resistance and better adhesion to the underlying metallic substrates.
The product protects metallic components from corrosive and chemical agents.
Earlier, in June, an Iranian company had also produced special aluminum profiles with high resistance to wear and corrosion by using nanotechnology.
‘Pasargad Alborz Aluminum’ company is the producer of the aluminum profile whose surface is anodized for varying their physicochemical characteristics. It bears desired wear and corrosion resistance.
The generation of a nanoporous structure at the surface of the aluminum profile has led to improving the adhesion of paint on the profile surface, enhancing the wear and corrosion resistances, increasing the paintability, reducing the friction coefficient of the profile surface, and boosting the aesthetic appearance.
The product can be used in building structure like retaining walls and columns, bridges, building doors and windows, fences of staircases and automotive and aircraft industries.
