According to Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council, the value of the sales volume of Iran's nano products in the past Iranian year (ended on March 20, 2022) was equal to $888.5 million.

One of the industries that has experienced astonishing growth in Iran in the past few years and indicates the country's scientific development is the nanotechnology.

The development of plans to export nano products in recent years and the creation of nano export bases in China, India, Indonesia, Syria, Turkey and Iraq have provided a platform for presenting the Iran-made nanotechnology goods, equipment and services to the global market.

Iran's nano products have been exported to 49 countries in 5 continents, so far.

Iran has made nanotechnology a priority in recent years, achieving lots of success. In January 2022, the nanotechnology research website StatNano ranked Iran as fourth in the world in nanotechnology publications.

“The number of scientific articles is deemed a significant parameter for measuring and comparing scientific development,” read the StatNao report.

China was atop the rankings, followed by the United States, India and Iran.

Some other entities have also recognized Iranian contributions to the field. In February 2022, the American Institute of Physics published a scholarly article on the use of nanomaterials for cancer treatment by Iranian scientists.
