‘Parsa Polymer Sharif’ and ‘Taban Andish Berjis’ firms have produced the nanoparticle-containing polypropylene polymeric masterbatch, providing an appropriate resistance against human pathogenic bacteria and deserving to be used in a wide range of applications.

Modification of polypropylene with oxide nanoparticles in the product has led to emergence of antibacterial activity.

The masterbatch can be used in making automotive accessories, home appliances, containers, and electrical/electronic devices like low-loss dielectric materials, packaging, piping systems and plastic moldings.

Iran currently ranks 4th in the world in production of nano-science. This comes as a part of Iran's Nanotechnology Initiative Council’s first development plan, which has sought to advance nano-science in the country.

The antibacterial clothing produced by a knowledge-based nanotechnology company in Iran earlier this year can display the infant’s body temperature in case of fever through color change.

The special clothing produced in the company changes color slowly when the infant's body temperature rises above 37 degrees Celsius, and turns completely white when the temperature rises above 38 degrees Celsius, according to Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council.

After treating the child and elimination of the risk, the color of clothes changes to the original state which shows to the parents that the infant's condition has returned to normal.

The thermochromic technology used in this product has been developed by using the safest raw materials which has been completely fixed on the textile with the efforts of the research and development (R&D) group of the knowledge-based company.
