Knowledge-Based Company Locally Produces Advanced Intubation Device

In an interview with Iranian media, Mohammad Bakhshian, one of the researchers at an Iranian knowledge-based company introduced designing and constructing the video laryngoscope (tubing in the respiratory tract) as one of their achievements.

“The laryngoscope is a device that helps the otolaryngologist with a non-invasive technique. It is used to have a better sight of the trachea and vocal cords during the passage of tracheal endoscopic tubes and examination and treatment,” he added.

Bakhshian considered the video laryngoscope to be used in the pharynx and intubation, adding, “The laryngoscope consists of a handle that is connected to blades with a light source, and a camera that is installed on the blades of this device so that the doctor can see the inside of the pharynx.”

“With the help of its light, the doctor can observe the path of the blade to the larynx,” he added.

According to the researcher, the device is an advanced model of the blades of ordinary laryngoscopes produced to observe the larynx and the internal space of the respiratory tract of patients.

Bakhshian added that a new model of this device has also been made that sends the images to the doctor's mobile phone.
