Iran Exports 47.5 Million Dollars Worth of Goods to 4 European States
$47.5mln worth of Iran-made commodities were exported to Spain, Italy, France and the Netherlands in the first three months of the current Persian calendar year (started on March 21), said Director-General of the International Customs Cooperation Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran Omid Golzari.
He added that the country’s exported goods to Spain include saffron, pistachios, pistachio nuts, polyethylene, industrial hot water boilers, foundry products and radiators, adding that the value of Iran’s exports to Spain in the first three months of this year was recorded at $16mln.
Golzari explained that Iran’s main exported products to Italy include foundry products, leather, saffron and pistachio nuts, noting that the value of Iran’s exports to Italy in the first three months of this year stood at $18.5mln.
Elaborating on the exports of Iranian goods to France, he said, “Our main exports to France include saffron, dried grapes, pistachio nuts and marble, and the value of Iran’s export goods to France in the three months of this year was $2mln.”
Golzari also explained that the main exported goods of Iran to the Netherlands include molybdenum, ferro molybdenum, fats, animal oils, dates, dried grapes, saffron, black tea (fermented), watermelon, juice and licorice extract, noting that $11mln worth of commodities were exported to the Netherlands in the first three months of the current year.
The value of trade between Iran and the European Union (EU)’s member states reached €1.869 billion in the first five months of 2023, according to the data released by the European Union's statistics office Eurostat.
Based on the Eurostat data, the trade between the two sides fell 10 percent in the said five months in comparison to the previous year’s same period when the figure stood at €2.073 billion.
As reported, the EU’s exports to Iran from January to May 2023 stood at €1.517 billion, registering a decrease of six percent compared to the same period of the previous year when the EU exports to Iran were reported to be €1.610 billion.
The European Union's imports from Iran also reached €352 million in the first five months of 2023 with a 24 percent decrease compared to the same period last year. EU imported €463 million of goods from Iran in January-May 2022.
