Nanostructured Metal Coating Improves Resistance of Iran-Made Automotive Mirror
‘Quzh Abgin Mobin’ has made the product which is an automotive mirror coated by a nanostructured metallic film to improve its resistance to erosion and humidity, and decrease the reflected light while image resolution remains unaffected.
The deposition of a nanostructured metal film on the fabricated automotive mirror leads to higher durability, improved resistance to erosion and humidity and reduction in reflected light while image resolution remains unaffected.
The product can mainly be used as car mirror for driving at night.
In a relevant development in June, an Iranian firm had also produced special reflective mirrors with nanometric aluminium or chromium coatings.
The ordinary mirrors are typically produced through applying a reflective coating to the back of a transparent glass. The main reason behind this designation is the easy construction procedure, high transparency, considerable hardness, and polishing-assisted smoothed surface. Most glass mirrors are coated by silver in addition to a set of other materials.
The new product manufactured by ‘Kaveh Glass Industry Group’ is a reflective mirror with nanometric aluminum or chromium coating.
The distinguishing features of the product are the exploitation of nanometric aluminum or chromium coating and among its advantages mention can be made of lower cost compared to silver-coated mirrors (suitable for low-sensitivity applications) and satisfactory suitability for wet areas and humid places. Whenever the chromium coating is used, the mirror shows a high resistance to humidity and environmental moisture.
The product can be used in bathrooms, indoor swimming pools, dining halls, hotels, conference rooms and facade panels.
