Iranian Company Manufactures Refractory Ceramics for Industries

Nahid Chegini, a member of the board of directors of the company, told ANA that refractory ceramics are justifiable economically and in terms of safety in cases that are highly prone to firing and are exposed to high temperature.

"The company manufactures various types of geomembrane sheets, thermoplastics and all types of flooring, PVC pipes, fittings, PE, HDPE, LDPE, PA, ABS, insulation, and lining of subway tunnel walls, tanks, and plating tanks, anti-acid, water storage and transfer, industrial dryers, semi-industrial, as well as cottage ovens," she added.

Refractory ceramics are used in the automotive, rail, oil, gas, and petrochemical industries as well as in the wood and furniture, printing and packaging, textile, power, electronics, and telecommunication industries.

Refractory ceramics are also highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion. They are designed for high-temperature applications. They are used for thermal insulation and fireproofing.

In addition to resistance against chemical substances which is among the main features of refractory ceramics, they are materials that do not undergo any physical or chemical change when used in high-temperature applications.

Refractories are materials that are resistant to high temperature, used predominantly as furnace linings for elevated temperature materials processing and other applications in which thermomechanical properties are critical. They can withstand temperatures of between 600 and 2000 centigrade.

The main characteristics of refractory products and thermal insulation are high resistance to heat shock, ideal strength, and non-combustibility. Industrial units that produce refractories have created many jobs directly and indirectly. Moreover, they have contributed greatly to foreign currency saving in the country.
