“The technology and processing of new materials research center has carried out different activities in various fields of applied research, production of science, contacts with industries and society, and manufacturing advanced equipment, the most important of which include the conclusion of three non-academic research project contracts worth 212 million tomans (Iranian currency) with an industrial group in Mashhad city and a mineral materials research company in Tehran, releasing over 80 articles in prestigious CJR-rated journals, at least 15 of which were Q1 or in the top 10 engineering journals, which led to gaining the H-Index of 28 in the Google Scholar,” Hemmati told ANA, elaborating on the reason for the center’s enhanced position to the first national level.

He added that the center has inked five memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with the largest industries in the region and creditable research institutes (Iran’s Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, Khorassan Steel Complex, Neishabour’s Khayyam Industrial Town, Khorassan Razavi University’s Jihad Center and Pouya Mashin Industrial Group), noting that two of these MoUs have led to signing contracts.

Hemmati continued to say that active membership in the laboratory network of Iran’s Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology and gaining the fifth rank among Islamic Azad University’s laboratories in 2020, registering a national invention under the name of the technology and processing of new materials research center of Islamic Azad University in the Intellectual Property Registration Organization of Iran and manufacturing an advanced thermogravimetry (TGF) analysis device for the first time in the country are among other diverse and important activities of the center.

He stated that the center also enjoys research cooperation with researchers in Italy, China, Czech Republic and Malaysia.
