Iranian Technologists Locally produce Probe Holder of Ultrasonic Steel Thickness Tester
Mehdi Shekarzadeh, the managing director of the technology company “Petro Parsian”, who was at the Asr-e Omid Sirjan exhibition, sat down for an interview with ANA news agency, to talk about the device that their company has made to help sheet metal factories.
He described the ultrasonic steel thickness tester as a high-tech device, saying, “One of the problems of the metal sheet factories is the failure of the probe holder of the ultrasonic sheet thickness gauge or tester, which usually erodes due to its constant contact with the surface of the sheet and is considered a consumable part.”
“To resolve this problem, after conducting studies by the technical team in our company, the problem was identified and the necessary analysis was done by reverse engineering and preparation of the preliminary design of this piece on the material used in its making,” Shekarzadeh added.
He, who is a professor at the Islamic Azad University-Ahvaz branch, went on to say that the company's experts, with special techniques, replaced the material with a different material to make the part and perform heat treatment on it. The test results showed it was as resistance as the original part and even more resistant than that. This part is now undergoing trial phase and will have a lifespan as the foreign equivalent."
The managing director of "Petro Parsian" company, whose company is based in Islamic Azad University-Ahvaz branch, also said that their firm is involved in making other products including reverse-engineering, optimization, design and manufacturing of industrial parts used in various industries such as auto industry, oil, petrochemical, gas, power plant and steel industries.
Asr-e Omid (Age of Hope) exhibition was held on the campus of Islamic Azad University-Sirjan branch in the city of Sirjan located in the Southeastern Kerman Province on May 22-June 1, 2023.
