Iran-Made Smart Hydroponics Robot Saves 80% of Water
“This new robot is named the smart hydroponic robot. In fact, hydroponic cultivation is carried out without the use of soil. The plant is placed in a liquid, a mixture of water and a special solution. This solution replaces the nutrients in the soil and helps the plant to grow better and faster,” Barsam Mo’ayyedzadeh told ANA.
“Special LEDs have been installed in the robot that replace sunlight and are widely used in places without sunlight. The plant can grow fully in places without sunlight. Also, the plant normally needs eight hours of sunlight daily, and this robot can find the local time by connecting to Wi-Fi and automatically set eight hours of time and turn the light on and off for the plant throughout the day,” he added.
Noting that parts showing the water level are also used in this robot, Mo’ayyedzadeh said that these parts show the water level in the robot to the users and adequacy of the water level in the robot is also assessed.
“A monitor is designed on the front of the robot which shows whether the robot has enough water or not, using different emoticons and the robot determines the level of water by crying and laughing. In fact, each level of water is displayed ti the user with a different feeling,” he added.
“A temperature and humidity sensor has also been installed in this robot which shows the temperature of the liquid inside the robot. Also, the proper location for placing the robot is shown,” Mo’ayyedzadeh said.
